What is the Signal?
In one line, The Signal is a free-to-read, daily, curated newsletter that helps understand the latest developments in technology, business, finance, economy and policy. It is typically a quick read and arrives in your email inbox at 8 am every day.
Our objective…
…is to offer high-class immersion to users; an experience from which they come off informed, equipped and, most of all, delighted. We are just right.
How do we do that?
A lot of news curation and aggregation today is a summary of events, rather than what they mean to the reader. That is something at the heart of what we do. Give qualitative insights by connecting the dots, trying to take the story forward, and bring in deeper analysis (in less than 250 words), devoid of needless jargon, and in an easy-to-read manner.
Our Products
The Signal is our flagship newsletter. We also publish The Playbook, a weekly take on the business of sports and gaming, and The Impression, a second weekly newsletter on the business of content and entertainment. In addition, we produce The Signal Daily, a news-based podcast and TechTonic Shift, a weekly podcast on all things related to tech. All our products are currently free.
Who writes The Signal?
The content operations are led by Dinesh Narayanan (ex-ET, Forbes India), Venkat Ananth (ex-The Ken, ET, Mint), and Rajneil Kamath (founder at Newschecker, Ex-Google). Our writers and producers have worked in some of the top news and tech organisations. The team comprises Roshni P Nair (Ex-The Morning Context, The Ken), Jaideep Vaidya (Ex-The Ken, Mint), Soumya Gupta (Ex-The CapTable, The Economic Times), Adarsh Singh Jangpangi (he started with The Signal), Shorbori Purkayastha (Ex-Bloomberg Quint), Manaswini Tripathy (she started with The Signal Daily), and Anup Semwal (The Signal is his first full-time job.
