What is the Signal?

In one line, The Signal is a free-to-read, daily newsletter that helps the reader understand the latest developments in technology, business, finance, economy and policy. It is published by The Core, a startup founded by financial journalist and media entrepreneur Govindraj Ethiraj with a distinct focus on India’s traditional economy as well as mature businesses, including the listed universe. The Signal is typically a quick read and arrives in your email inbox at 8 am every day.

Our objective…

…is to offer high-class immersion to users; an experience from which they come off informed, equipped and, most of all, delighted. We are just right.

How do we do that?

We present qualitative insights by connecting the dots and bring deep analysis (in less than 250 words) devoid of needless jargon, often supported by reporting, in an easy-to-read manner.

Our Products

The Signal is our flagship newsletter. We also publish The Playbook, a weekly take on the business of sports and gaming, and The Impression, a second weekly newsletter on the business of content and entertainment. In addition, we produce The Signal Daily, a news-based podcast and TechTonic Shift, a seasonal weekly podcast on all things related to tech. All our products are currently free.

Who writes The Signal?

The content operations are led by Dinesh Narayanan (ex-ET, Forbes India). Our writers and producers have worked in some of the top news and tech organisations. Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and website. Never miss an update.
